Shameful Pile of Unread Comics

It's a tragic irony (or maybe an ironic tragedy) that since I started keeping a regular update schedule on my webcomics, I've stopped reading comics. Not that it stops me from letting mounds of them build up in my folder at Triad, though. I just dropped in for the first time in three months and picked up my books the other day. I was relieved to find that my total was only $30. I lucked up and two of my titles had ended, so I'll be able to eat this week after all. So now I have roughly a year each to read of: JSA, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Transformers, Action Comics, and the complete Metal Men mini-series. Add to that Jake's copy of the Phantom Stranger mini from the 80's that I've had for almost 5 years and still not read, and it's a pretty big pile of shameful neglect (or neglectful shame?). It's jerks like me that are killing the comic industry. I had done a pretty good job of staying caught up with my books until a few months ago. I sort of fell behind on the Radicals updates. I've not really been late with many, but my workflow has been a lot more demanding. Originally I had it timed so that the process of doing a page was spread over a whole week. Now I pretty much script it, sketch it, and pencil it on Saturday night and get up Sunday morning and ink and color it. My whole Sunday is pretty much eaten up. I'm even 3 episodes behind on Doctor Who and I have pretty much a whole season of Torchwood I haven't watched. Fortunately, I've finally managed to get caught up producing my own comics (I might even get slightly ahead this week), so maybe I'll get to start tackling this pile of comics soon. Or maybe that's just optimistic thinking (or thinking optimistically?). That was not at all forced.
