Geekery now available in Blue AND Red!

Thought I'd take a minute out from the exhaustive work on our 100th Page-iversary week to share a toy haul I'm particularly over-joyed with!

I could barely it believe when I saw pictures of a Superman Blue figure from Toyfare! Somehow, I failed to notice any pictures of Superman Red, so I was completely shocked when I was working at *UNNAMED MAJOR RETAILER* and opened a case to find BOTH! This was probably one of the lamest and most reviled storylines in post-Crisis Superman history. Nonetheless, I liked the costume design. I also liked the way Grant Morrison handled Superman's new powers in JLA.

I've been laying off the collecting for the most part (except GI Joes), but I could pass on these.

Speaking of GI Joes, I think I said in this very blog that I wasn't going to get carried away with the 25th Anniversary GI Joes. 36 Troopers and 12 Crimson Guards later, I have every figure except Flash so far. Mostly just Cobra soldiers to go wit the rest of my army of evil. 12 Daleks, 42 Clone Troopers, and tons of Transformers G2 Laser Jets I picked up at Big Lots MANY years ago fill out the army. I guess I just have a weak spot for evil and uniformity. Why, if i had $80 of disposable income right now, I'd probably order this GI Joe-scaled SS Box set from SmallJoes.com. They're the ultimate in evil AND uniformity! And they'd be great adversaries for the forthcoming Indiana Jones action figures! Besides, who doesn't want action figures that may be illegal to own in no less than FIVE countries?
